For March 2018
Looking
out my window
I
see sunshine which has alluded us for several weeks. The weather has been cold
one day and warm the next. I am ready for spring!
I
am thinking
How
to organize all my crafts projects that are currently UFO's. I need to go
through and decide what needs to be undone because it will never be finished.
What I want to complete. And what should I tackle next.
I
am thankful
How
thankful I am for God's blessings. Several things happened in February that not
only relieved some issues I have and other problems that have caused me to have
a lot of stress. Each time God was there to guide me through the maze.
One of my favorite things
Sitting
in my easy chair with the kitty on my lap, yarn project in my hands, and
watching a favorite show.
I
am creating
I
have been in what I call creative hell this month. I have a lot of projects
going on and not working on any of them! I have decided that I will go through
each one and rate whether I will finish them or not. If not, they are being
recycled.
I
have been doing crochet, embroidery and weaving. So hopefully I will have some
fun new projects to show you next month!
I am wearing
Well,
I am not very original LOL! I am wearing a T-shirt and yoga pants. Pretty much
my uniform at home!
I
am reading (read) /watching (watched) / listening to
I
just finished Dan Browns Origin. Once again, a wonderful roller coaster ride of
fun! Very thought provoking. I am always out of breath when I get done reading
his book as if I had been in a marathon LOL!
We
have been watching Altered Carbon on Netflix. We love Sci-Fi. This has been and
interesting show with lots of twists and turns.
I
also watched The Darkest Hour this weekend. I missed my Mom watching this with
me. She told me so much about Winston Churchill (she was a teenager in England
during the war). She would be telling us what was right and what they got
wrong! LOL! But the take away from this movie and why I mention it is if it
wasn't for him, we might be speaking German. All the leaders in England were
wanting to surrender to Hitler and were going to meet with Stalin. So HERE HERE
for "NEVER SURRENDER!"
I
am hoping
That
the problems I have been facing these few months finally settle down. I have
been really having a rough time and know I will get through it. But some days I
just want to say "THAT'S ENOUGH!" LOL. I know God never gives you
more than you can handle, but right now I am not so sure!
I
am learning
I
am trying my hand at Whitework. So far I like it. I am also learning how to
crochet cables. This has been a lot of fun. I love LillaBjorn Designs (http://www.lillabjorncrochet.com).
She uses a lot of post stitches and I want to make several of her designs.
In
my kitchen
I bought an instant pot and have been playing with
that. It does have a learning curve, but I know I will use it a lot. One of the
recipes I like is Instant Pot oatmeal.
2 cups old fashioned oats
2 cups water
2 cups milk
Place trivet at the bottom of the pot and place a heat
resistant bowl on top. Add 1 cup cold water to the bottom of the pan. Cook for
8 min. on pressure cooking setting (don’t forget to set the vent to sealed).
After it cooks let it self-vent release for 10 minutes. Release valve to make
sure no pressure is left then open the lid. We love this oatmeal and have it
every weekend!
Post Script
This
website has so many wonderful patterns for free. There yarn is also very
reasonable priced.
